Duties and Responsibilities:
Setting up and operating the molder.
Selecting and installing cutting heads on the machine according to the pattern to be cut.
Inserting and bolting specified knives in slots of cutterheads already in the machine, using gauges and wrenches.
Inspecting the stock being cut.
Verifying the dimensions of cut material to ensure they match specifications.
Interpreting mold blueprints to ensure that the molds are produced accurately.
Monitoring the molding process by ensuring proper functioning of the machine, watching out for malfunctions, making any required adjustments, and conducting machine maintenance.
Turning valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycles times.
Removing finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses and other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when necessary.
Positioning and securing work pieces on machines and start feeding mechanisms.
